The next best thing to a day in the park is a smoothly running learning program or a beautifully crafted document, start to finish. Collaborative, creative when appropriate, detail-oriented, simplifying the complex, on schedule, and tailored to your needs.
I love creating learning experiences and curriculum materials and editing just about anything.
I’m all about helping people learn and catering to an optimal end user experience.

Great learning design and curriculum development isn’t just about writing instructional materials (although that can be a part of it). It’s about carefully analyzing needs, listening to stakeholders, creatively determining ideal learning methods, and regularly evaluating the work.
I’ve been designing learning experiences and materials for two decades and love getting into the big questions:
Who will be learning?
What are the desired outcomes? How will we know that the learning experience is successful?
How can we make this learning experience as compelling and engaging as possible?
Of course, there are many other questions in the process, but these are the main ones.
I design creative and effective learning experiences for adults and children, with a specialty in storytelling and scenarios. Please see the individual pages in the menu above to learn more.
Editing and Writing
Are you fully confident in your organization’s English-language communications? Do your written English materials capture the subtleties of the language? Are they straightforward and clear? Do they flow as if written by a professional native speaker?
If you’re not sure you can answer “yes” to these questions, I can help you polish your written materials for American and/or British audiences.
Please see my companion website, hedbergenglish.com, for more information about these services.
I had the pleasure of working with Betsy on the development of an entirely new and innovative curriculum program for my company Mind & Table. Betsy provided wonderful guidance and input for both the process and the content of this program. She served as a wonderful guide, coach and teammate in helping me to visualize our program, think through the critical challenges, and lay out a plan and process for meeting our goals. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Betsy again and I encourage others to do the same.Mike Hesser
Betsy had the responsibility of synthesizing the input of a diverse group of individuals for the revision of a course manual on mindfulness. She worked independently AND consulted with the group appropriately. She added her valuable perspective and deferred to others...She communicated her progress and time lines clearly and always delivered a high quality product as promised. She is easy to work with and is a highly effective writer.Rona Wilensky
Betsy is always a pleasure to work with. Her writing is clear, requires little editing, and she always has met her deadlines.Aaron Willis
